HQ008 - HQ030 Electric Actuator with Failsafe Battery Backup Module

A compact yet powerful electric actuator, with failsafe battery backup, offering repeatability with long service life. The HQ008 - HQ030 electric actuators are supplied fitted with a failsafe battery backup module that operates in the event of a power failure and specially designed for quarter-turn applications such as ball, butterfly, plug valves, and dampers. 

The squirrel cage induction motor (110V AC or 220V AC) has a duty cycle (for on/off duty) of S4, 70% on/off, 100% for max. 30 mins. The actuator is available as the following models: HQ008 with an output torque of 80Nm; HQ015 with an output torque of 150Nm, and HQ030 with an output torque of 300Nm. High quality electrical components, alloy gearing and die cast aluminium housing ensure reliability and long service life.

The corrosion resistant housing is hard anodised inside and out prior to applying a dry powder polyester coating to increase corrosion resistance. The enclosure is weatherproof to IP67 and fitted with two M25 cable entries. Standard features include manual override with handwheel, 10W anti-condensation heater, and four limit switches. The actuator is fitted with a sealed battery which has the capacity for five cycles within 1 hour of the loss of electrical power, the battery recharges automatically when re-energised.

The battery module includes controls for local operation with a padlock-able remote/local selector, the front panel has LED indicators for battery charge status and valve close/ open position. The actuator can be configured to fail closed or fail open on loss of electrical power. This battery backup fail-safe electric actuator is designed for emergency shutdown applications only. The actuators have a working temperature range of -20°C to +40°C.
